We took John to the creek for a swim on a hot day.

We watched Moana.

We had a thunderstorm and Laxmi was feeling frightened so we read a book about anxiety. She found it really helpful.

Varsha has repainted another Monster High Doll and is starting to redo her hair.

We have also been to Norrie’s and painted the pottery we did last Friday with underglazes.

This week’s eco warriors was about entomophagy – eating insects! Laxmi’s favourite was green ant lollipops. She didn’t like the mealworm chocolate chip cookies…

It’s been hot.

Varsha has been repainting Monster High Dolls.

We had a pottery workshop with the homeschoolers. We went down to the creek afterwards. Then a beautiful storm came over and cooled everything off.

Cosi and Thiango came over for the day while Cat and Will went to Cairns. It was nice to go out and draw on the road after the heat went out of the day. Cat and Will brought home dumplings and fortune cookies and we had a Chinese New Year feast.

There is a big flock of black cockies flying around and calling out from the tree tops.

It has been really foggy in the morning and really hot during the day. There are lots of cool bugs out at the moment like these beautiful shiny green ones. Laxmi took a giant moth to eco warriors today. Dr Clare said it is a wood moth.

Varsha has been repainting monster high dolls.

Laxmi and Dakoda and Cosmo have been playing Creativerse together on the computer.

It was John”s birthday on Sunday. We had a Gospel music barbecue for his party. We also fired the kiln for the first time. The next day it had cooled down enough to take the pottery out.

Laxmi and Cosmo are interested in Taekwondo. We went to watch a class in Mareeba. That same day Varsha went with Thiango to Ozharvest in Cairns with the Tablelands Homeschoolers. They collect and distribute Food to people who need it.

The next day we had our first music session at the hall with the local homeschoolers. Varsha is playing the piano and there is a band and singing. Laxmi brought her chess set too.

Varsha and Laxmi have been making with clay.

Laxmi and Varsha made chocolate chip cookies.

Varsha been making breakfasts worth photographing.

We have been playing a game trying to remember the capitals of countries.

Varsha has learned how to say her name in AUSLAN and we also watched a Mystery Science video about sign language this week.

Laxmi taught me how to play chess.

Varsha went with John to Mareeba. She did some shopping by herself. She found the new sewing shop and selected some needles to put new hair in dolls, she bought some new pens and she bought some makeup.

Varsha washed Kiko.

Some amazing mushrooms have come up after the rain.

We met up with the local home learners at the hall to meet some music teachers who might do some classes with us. Afterwards we went to the creek. It was lovely but there were lots of March flies.

Laxmi went to her first Eco warriors session at Julatten school with Cosmo and Dakoda. Dr Clare had lots of cool stick insects and other things to see. Laxmi made a praying mantis out of play dough and leaves and gumnuts.

We had some lovely rainy days at home. We played Harry Potter Cluedo and watched some more of the Crown.

We went to Davies Creek where Cat and Will and Cosi and Thiango were camped. It rained quite a lot. We camped overnight and had fun playing in the water and playing the Emoji card game in the tent and going down the rock slide. Varsha and Thiango took lots of photos.

The day after we went camping we went bowling in Atherton with the Tablelands Homeschoolers. Jaz and Drummond came with us in the car. We had a picnic afterwards. Laxmi was especially happy to see Dakoda and Varsha was happy to see Tekira.

It was my birthday a week after we got home. It started raining. It was lovely.

Nim and Thu came to stay. We watched The Crown on Netflix and ate ice cream in the daytime. We had dinner at the pub and came home for champagne and birthday cake.

Cat and Will and Thiango and Cosmo were away camping so we had another party when they came home to celebrate Christmas and New Year and my birthday.

We had dal bati like we had had a year ago at Jagran in Rajasthan. Rupert and Juliana collected the cow poo we needed to cook the bati.

Cat made a beautiful and delicious cheesecake and Thiango took most of these photos. It rained a lot and we were happy for it. Varsha and Thiango got really wet at the end of the night.

It is lovely to be home and to see Kiko.

Varsha got her chair off the roof of the truck and into her room.

Varsha and Thiango met up with Tekira at the Retro Cafe in Yungaburra. They dressed up and took lots of photos. Tekira gave Varsha a pair of rainbow socks for Christmas.

Laxmi planted her succulents from Grandma.

Ulla decorated the treehouse and left the prince and princess dolls who live their now.
