We had a full day rehearsing 10 Nights Dreams for Wallaby Creek. Everyone is looking forward to going there.

Varsha and Laxmi have been revisiting a favourite old game, Broken Age and Laxmi has been watching Superhero Girls.

The piano tuner came. It was really interesting to see what he did and look at the inside of the piano.

Varsha has been doing more drawing. She made hair and a hat for one of the dolls she has repainted. She also finished painting a box she is making to store doll’s clothes in.

Grandma sent a parcel of doilies for Varsha. She is going to make them into a curtain for her room.

We research lots of things like how to identify cardamom after we were given some at the markets this month. We also looked up Zoot suits and the historical significance of suits like that.

Music classes continue and we are working on an alien themed performance with music for the Variety Night.

We went to the painting activity with the Tablelands Homeschoolers in Yungaburra. Laxmi loved painting with a drill. There was a big Pokémon card swap too.

Laxmi counted up all the change Grandpa gave her.

We went to the Tablelands Homeschoolers felting rocks activity in Atherton.

It’s been cold and very beautiful. Varsha took this lovely photo of the morning light.

I gave two mosaics workshops for the school holiday program in Julatten. Laxmi and Cosmo came along. Varsha and Thiango went to a youth group camp out at Tekira’s place instead. They had a fabulous time.

We went to Cairns for the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.

Varsha learned how to embroider to make these socks for Lara’s birthday present. She made a beautiful box too. But we got Lara’s birthday day wrong. Varsha worked so hard to get it in the post on time and it arrived one month early!

We went to Mareeba and Charley gave Varsha another treatment for her kinked back. We had a picnic in the park and went to the library. Laxmi zoomed through her book before we got home.

We have been doing music practice. John pulled apart the piano accordion trying to fix the sticky keys.

We went to swing dancing. Luka and Zeph were there. It was lots of fun. We had bubble tea at the night market before we drove home.

John made doughnuts.

Laxmi has been making funny movies.

Varsha and I went to the Port Douglas carnivale parade on our way to the airport to pick up John. We saw the Sassy Cats in the parade. One of the circus teachers is in Sassy Cats. We really enjoyed watching a busker doing contact juggling and other clever tricks.

We had a stall at the markets. Laxmi made a house in a tree in the park where the markets are and Varsha did the kids craft activity with her friends.
