We had some lovely rainy days at home. We played Harry Potter Cluedo and watched some more of the Crown.

We went to Davies Creek where Cat and Will and Cosi and Thiango were camped. It rained quite a lot. We camped overnight and had fun playing in the water and playing the Emoji card game in the tent and going down the rock slide. Varsha and Thiango took lots of photos.

The day after we went camping we went bowling in Atherton with the Tablelands Homeschoolers. Jaz and Drummond came with us in the car. We had a picnic afterwards. Laxmi was especially happy to see Dakoda and Varsha was happy to see Tekira.

It was my birthday a week after we got home. It started raining. It was lovely.

Nim and Thu came to stay. We watched The Crown on Netflix and ate ice cream in the daytime. We had dinner at the pub and came home for champagne and birthday cake.

Cat and Will and Thiango and Cosmo were away camping so we had another party when they came home to celebrate Christmas and New Year and my birthday.

We had dal bati like we had had a year ago at Jagran in Rajasthan. Rupert and Juliana collected the cow poo we needed to cook the bati.

Cat made a beautiful and delicious cheesecake and Thiango took most of these photos. It rained a lot and we were happy for it. Varsha and Thiango got really wet at the end of the night.

It is lovely to be home and to see Kiko.

Varsha got her chair off the roof of the truck and into her room.

Varsha and Thiango met up with Tekira at the Retro Cafe in Yungaburra. They dressed up and took lots of photos. Tekira gave Varsha a pair of rainbow socks for Christmas.

Laxmi planted her succulents from Grandma.

Ulla decorated the treehouse and left the prince and princess dolls who live their now.

We had another play at the waterpark in Townsville.

We camped at Murray Falls. The waterfall was beautiful and there was a lovely swimming hole. It rained during the night.

We camped at Davies Creek for our last night of the road trip. It was nice and sunny and everything dried out quickly on the hot flat rocks.

Varsha whittled a stick and Laxmi made a present sand pile. We all took turns finding our presents in the sand.

It was a long drive from Yeppoon to Bowen. We stopped for a swim and a sandwich at Sarina Pool. The pool was cool but only a few people were there.

We got to the Bowen caravan park just before dark. We swam in their pool and used their barbecue to make dinner. It was windy.

We went to the waterpark in the morning. The bucket and the slides were fun.

We got some delicious things to eat from the bakery.

We had a lovely campsite by the beach in Yeppoon. We used the travel glasses Erica gave us.

We swam in the afternoon and in the morning.

Varsha and Laxmi have been reading the encyclopaedia while we have been driving. I’ve been reading parts of Position Doubtful by Kim Mahood our loud. It’s about Central Australia and making art and life in Aboriginal Communities.

The volcanic landscape we drove through on our way out of Yeppoon was interesting.

We stayed the night with Uncle Stu and Stephanie and Katie at the Gold Coast. We had tacos for dinner. Stephanie had to leave for work early.

We went back to the art gallery and the museum in Brisbane for a couple of hours. We ate some food at the museum and looked at the dinosaur bones and did the kids activities at the art gallery.

We continued driving north. It was pretty hot. We stopped for a break at Miriam Vale that had a cool new playground.

We talked about the tallest building in the world.

We stopped in Gympie at the caravan park. We enjoyed the pool. The caravan park manager had Japanese dogs called Akitas.

We said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa and went north to Jen and Nic’s place. Katie came too.

They had lots of visitors and 4 dogs. Katie especially enjoyed playing with the dogs.

Varsha and Stella flew the kite. Everyone enjoyed the pool.

John admired Nic’s shed. I admired Jen’s studio.

We saw the big python that lives around the house.

We shared a delicious feast in the evening.

Varsha made a treasure hunt for Laxmi.

We went to the Mullumbimby Community Gardens and met Joel Orchard and talked about growing food.

Grandma and Laxmi made chocolate brownies while Varsha and I drove to Coraki to see my old school friend Sara. It rained a lot.
