The morning in Charters Towers was dewy. We found the Wedgetail Eagles we had seen in the Bird book. We talked to Grandma and Grandpa and to John in America.
We jumped on the bouncy pillow and swam in the pool before we left. Laxmi played with two little boys in the pool. We collected Tamarinds from the grass near the pool.
The Charters Towers Historical Museum is in a big old building and full of interesting things. There were some very fine woven baskets and hats made by Aboriginal women.
We filled up with petrol and were surprised to see Twinkies on the counter at the shop.
We had to make a decision which way to go when we left. We ended up flipping a coin and choosing to take the western road through Bourke.
