Laxmi and I were planning to do some activities on New Year’s Eve day. We started with paper planes from the origami book. We made a ricotta cake and just put it in the oven when a man shouted from the back paddock that we had a fire.

Varsha and Lara looked after Laxmi and Kiko and filled buckets with water. The fire caught in the long grass and spread really quickly. We are really happy when the fire trucks came and put it out.

Cat and Will and Cosi and Thiango came for dinner. Laxmi remembered the cake in the oven just in time. We had it with mango and granadilla sauce for dessert.
