Varsha helped put up the mosquito net in the bunk room for Aunty Ruth.
We drove to Cairns to take Ganeshji and RKji to the airport. We went looking for batteries for Ganeshji’s phone in Cairns Central but we couldn’t find anything that would fit.
John sent a message that he had won the election so we went for a celebratory cup of tea.
At the airport we exchanged some yen we had left over from Japan for dollars. Varsha decided she would buy a one thousand yen note with her pocket money. It cost her $8.
We were sad to say goodbye Ganeshji and RKji. We didn’t have long to wait for Grandma Lois, Grandpa George and Aunty Ruth arrive and cheer us up.
We went to Holloway’s Beach for dinner. It was pretty late when we got home.
Varsha and Laxmi were still keen to read before we went to sleep. We read more of Farm Anatomy. There were some beans called Calypso Beans. We looked up who Calypso is. We are enjoying The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict too. Nina sent it to Varsha for her birthday.
We brought some cool things from Bonny Glen Station. There was a quartz crystal Eric gave us, and the flowers and a seedpod from a Ak plant. It is a weed at Bonny Glen station but in India the flowers are used in Shiva Temples. The seedpod was hollow and squishy. It is also a medicinal plant RK ji and Ganesh ji knew.
Laxmi did some drawing and Cosi and Thiango came over for a play. They made perfume.
John and RK ji and Ganesh ji came home from their meeting. Ganesh ji gave us our first chapati making lesson.
RK ji showed us how to use the neti pot to clean our noses.
