We said goodbye to lovely Mr Ken at Route 53 Guest House. We found a cafe nearby for egg and toast. The owner made Varsha and Laxmi origami balloons and showed us how to make them.

We caught to bus to Kasuga Taisha temple with thousands of stone lamps with paper windows in them. There were lots of deer very keen to eat the deer biscuits we bought.

We walked through the park to the Todaiji Temple. It is the biggest wooden temple in the world. It has a giant golden Buddha inside. Some school girls and their teacher had some questions to practice their English with us. They gave us origami cranes.

Varsha and I did a tea ceremony. Varsha describes it as calm, delicate and beautiful. We chose our own tea bowls. There were tatami mats, an alcove with flowers and a calligraphy scroll. The tea master told us where to sit and what to do and what to say.

We came home to our new room and went to the bath house before bed.
