We did science experiments with the homeschoolers this week.
Lots of them were about the human body. There a the reflex one where you had to try and catch the $10 note before it fell to the floor. We had a big skeleton picture and a small model of a person with the organs and bones you can take out and put back. We did a lung capacity experiment which was almost a disaster because all our plastic bags had holes in them but Ryvers saved the day by going home for some balloons. We took measurements and will make a graph next week.
We tried blowing a ping pong ball through a straw to make it levitate above the straw.
Cat brought the computer and we watched some funny Russians do experiments and the upsizing of science experiments on the Ellen show.
Michelle brought some really fun make your own bouncy ball kits. You put crystals inside a mould and filled them up with water.
No science experiment day would be complete without a bit of bicarb and vinegar (or acetic acid and water) fizzing.
There were our favourite games of tag and fly and delicious food to share as well.
