It was a bit drizzly today. Laxmi and Varsha did some more experimenting with the selfie stick before we left John at the apartment to do some work.

There is a little charcoal shop across the road from the apartment. They have a wind chime made of charcoal that made the most surprisingly lovely sound.

We bought picnic lunch at the Family Mart and saw a display of all kinds of green tea flavoured sweets. We found a seat by the creek nearby. Varsha really enjoyed her steam bun.

Laxmi was Hermione and took charge of our activities. We walked up the hill past lots of little shrines where everyone had aprons on.

We sat down on another lovely seat just inside the gates of the Chion-in Temple. The temple was so beautiful. We took off our shoes and went inside and saw the golden Buddhas and golden lotuses and a monk chanting and using several kinds of drums. Laxmi really liked the ones with two dragon heads.

We put our shoes on and went into the very lovely temple gardens. Varsha could see where the fairies must live. Hermione was so impressed she was casting spells everywhere.
