It was a beautiful, still, misty morning looking out over the water from Mikiura Guest House. John and Varsha watched the fishermen catching fish.

Takeshi made us delicious Japanese breakfast. It was a bit of a shock for Varsha and Laxmi to see a fish with its head on their breakfast plate. There was raw egg and natto as well.

Seikoh-san came and picked us up. Hatomi-san and Tsunade-san showed me how to make tsukemono. Tatsuheru made everyone laugh trying on John’s shoes. We saw the big elementary school that has only 12 students now. We walked up behind the village to their field

We learned how to pick tea and saw the lovely tea flowers. We dug up sweet potato and carrots and picked some cucumber. The ocean is down the valley and the mountains with the forests behind. It is very beautiful.
